| The
carriers responsability is purely to tail lift down
onto the pavement or driveway , having positioned his
vehicle as near and convenient as is safe and sensible.
Any additional help from the driver is a courtesy on
his part , not an obligation .
Delivery
costs are subject to location and at our discretion,
dependant upon appliance.
Delivery
time can be anywhere between 9 and 5 , unless otherwise
agreed. PM delivery between 12 and 5 can be requested
at a small extra charge. AM delivery B4 midday is £10
extra , B4 10 am is £18 extra. Delivery is normally
week days only, but a special Saturday AM delivery can
be arranged at a cost of £30 extra.
For
deliveries outside of the UK please see Export Policy
below.
Somebody
sensible has to be in to take delivery, otherwise the
carrier will go away again. Having unloaded, the driver
will require a signature acknowledging receipt of the
goods in good condition. Once the drivers docket has
been signed and he leaves the scene, it`s very difficult
to make any kind of claim for damage subsequently.
Ideally, the goods should be unpacked and checked in
the presence of the driver, particularly if any of the
outer packaging is disturbed. If this is not possible,
the drivers paperwork should be duly noted as “outer
damaged, goods unexamined”, and we should be notified
immediately. A full examination of the contents must
then be made within 24 hours and any damages or shortages
notified to us without delay.
Most deliveries are received in perfect condition, but
in the unlucky event of your goods sustaining damage
such as a broken glass for example, regrettably we can
only honour any claim if the correct procedures have
been followed.
Whilst
every effort is made on our part and by our carriers
to deliver on the due day and within the normal or allotted
time frame, no guarantees are given by us, and no compensation
is payable in the event that the delivery is delayed.
It would therefore be unwise to schedule installation/contractors
for the same day that the delivery is due.
